Synagogue in Hadassah Hospital, Ein Kerem
The parochet for the Moshe Saba Masri Synagogue in the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Medical Tower of Hadassah Hospital, Ein Kerem is an inspiring example of combining prayer and meditation with the fiber arts. It is based on the concept of reaching heavenward in supplication and seeking guidance. The Biblical verse chosen for this design was “Behold, I will bring her relief and healing. I will heal them and reveal unto them an abundance of peace and truth” (Jeremiah 8:22), related to the original motto of Hadassah, ‘The healing of my people’.
Arnona Mikveh, Jerusalem
This hand-painted mural decorates the reception room of the mikveh in Talpiot/Arnona, Jerusalem. It is here that women prepare themselves before immersion in the ritual bath. The moon and trees (which bend, but do not break) refer to the monthly life cycle of women.
Etz Haim in the Beit Midrash, Yeshiva University, Bayit Vegan, Jerusalem
The trunks of the trees (brass) create supports for the major sponsors to the Beit Midrash, while the five etched glass sections, representing the five books of the Torah, contain the flourishing leaves of the tree which bear the names of the many donors who support the project. Spaces allow for future donors. Located at the entrance to the Beit Midrash, the Etz Haim enables one to honor those who have given others the opportunity to study and share the heritage of our forefathers.
Stained Glass Windows for Ramat Beit HaKerem Synagogue
The Aron Hakodesh (the Holy Ark, containing our most treasured possession, the Torah scrolls) is framed with the images of the seven Biblical species. The foliage of the Land of Israel is mentioned in Deuteronomy 8:8. The stained glass windows filter colored light to enter and cast its glow over the congregants.
